VPS StraightTalk Webinar Series: Explaining Damages to Juries and Others with Chris Hamilton, CPA, CFE, CVA

The ability to “tell the story” to the trier of fact is what sets some financial experts apart. The inability to tell the story can sink the case. This session will take the concept of economic damages from the conceptual level down to the story level and the pictures that are worth a thousand words. Temporary loss periods and permanent loss of value damages will be presented and discussed.

Learning Objectives:

  • Examine the role of a financial expert as communicator
  • Understand the flow of a damages case and the role of the financial expert in facilitating the development of the case
  • Learn how the end of the case (trial) should inform the conduct of the case from the beginning
  • Be presented with ideas to help the financial expert develop and improve persuasive communication skills
  • Specific tips will be given to enhance the financial expert’s effectiveness in communicating their work and conclusions
